i went up to the roof to water the lettuce and cauliflower i started about 2 weeks ago, and i think one of the neighbor kids tore off all the lettuce leaves for me. they stacked them nicely in a pile next to the flat of sprouts. ugh. i brought the stems and peat pods to work so i could try to rip the stems out and reuse them, but i might end up just throwing them away. i’ve got 200 coconut coir pods coming in the mail in a few days anyway. coco coir is a renewable alternative to peat moss that has some advantages and disadvantages of its own. mainly, it’s cheaper and it doesn’t take decades or centuries to grow.

it’s very frustrating - i’ve been having a stressful week and i was getting really excited about being able to plant all that stuff on sunday. i’ve had it up on the roof for weeks and nobody’s touched it at all. that lettuce only had 3 days til retirement and a gold watch :( I WILL AVENGE YOU MY BABIES
